Xinfeng town is located on the Hangjiahu
Plain in the east of Jiaxing. It is 15km away form the city , 2 km
from the exit of the expressway between Shanghai and
Hangzhou. The Zhawang Highway runs across the whole town for 7.5km.
It joins the Grand Canal inwards, leads to the ZHAPU Port outwards.
The Pinghu River which can navigate a-hundred-ton boats runs across
the whole town for 9.8km . In the southern end of the town is being
buit the exit of ZHAJIASU expressway now; therefore, it's water and
land communication is very convenient. |
| Xinfeng Town has a size of
69.3 square km. governing 18 administrative villages and 2 neighborhood
committess with a population of 45,000, including 8000 non-agricultural
population.The town is endowed with favorable natural conditions and
rich cultural inside information. There are , in the town, 79 enterprises
of various kinds of ownership,1,090 privately owned enterprises including
79 broad-scale ones,13 semi-foreign joint ventures |

and 40 enterprises with exporting
qualification. We have already formed characteristic industrial structure,
such as chemical fiber, clothing , machinery, chemical industry and
so on in the whole town.
In 2001, theindustrial and agricultural gross output of the town is
2,821 million yuan, the general financial revenue is up to 43,910,000
yuan, the average income of the peasants is up to 5,311 yuan. The
people are living a happy and wealthy life.
Xinfeng owns one province-level modern agricultural garden and one
province-level, one city-level leading agricultural enterprise. The
whole town has formed the agriculture industrialized base, pork and
ginger as the main products. In 2001, the total agricultural output
is up to 384 million yuan. |
